Attention to detail is the key to this party. To have the strongest impression, EVERYTHING must be black and white. We alternated 2 foot sections of black and white butcher paper and covered every wall, in every room where guests would socialize, from ceiling to floor. This is time consuming, but sets the tone and looks great when completed.
The invite to guests should include a requirement to dress in the most creative black and white costume. Promote a prize for best costume to reach maximum participation. Cups, table cloths, silverware, plates, garbage cans, counter tops, should all be black or white in color.
