Group Road Trip – Bus Pub Crawl
There is a good reason there is only one option needed for this category. Theoretically, a man and a woman get married once. Therefore, they get only one bachelor/bachelorette party. So do it right. If you can pull this off, your guests will be talking about it for years and may even be begging you to put together a reunion tour in the future.
To make this work, you need two nights. Plan a route in your area that provides a cool final destination and a handful of pubs/bars along the way. Do your homework, research is critical. One of the determining factors in the success of your event is the tolerance of your bus driver. I advise you disclose all of your plans and share specific details. If he or she has a problem and you cannot reach a compromise, it’s going to be a disaster.
Start the adventure on a Fri or Sat (if 3 day weekend). The Road Trip should consist of a 30-45 minute stop at 5-7 pubs/bars on your way to the forgiving hotel or campsite. Again, its best to be open and up front in your planning. You can have the guests on the bus write down dares for the bachelor/bachelorette to complete at each stop.
The next day is wide open with possibilities. You can arrange a river rafting trip, golf tournament, go gambling, Pub Crawl part two, traditional adult entertainment, attend a summer concert/rodeo/festival, rent motorcycles, scooters, atv’s, etc, etc. Just make sure you make your way back to the hotel or camping spot with an accurate head count. When you board the bus the next morning and start the journey back home, ensure everyone (especially the bride/groom to be) is accounted for.
My number one recommendation for the event planner of this bachelor/bachelorette party is to calculate all expenses, divide by anticipated guests, and collect when they board the bus. I combined bus rental, hotel stay, the first beer at each bar, two lunches, and Saturday’s entertainment into one package, one ticket price. Guests love the package/all inclusive deal where they don’t have to pull out their wallet constantly. Plus, they can budget for the upfront costs and it makes it easier on the planner. Done right, this is truly an epic event. Plan smart, have fun.
